Thar She Blows!

Saturday we had the amazing opportunity of going whale watching for blue whales. In case you forgot your animal facts, the blue whale is the largest animal ever to live on the planet. Here we are before boarding our boat: my dad, Spencer, me, James, Doug and Cortney.
This is our boat and what we got to see on our three hour tour. When you are whale watching, you look for the water that sprays out of the spout, and you really yell, "There she blows!"
OK, so these pictures do not do justice to the amazing site we saw watching this blue whale. Blue whales are as long as three school buses lined up, have a heart the size of a small car, and a small child could crawl through its aorta.

An awesome experience we all loved!!

Visit from the Browns

We were so happy the Browns could come and spend a few days with us. Here's the gang after dinner on the Seal Beach Pier.
Huntington Beach

Of course, we had to spend a day at Disneyland! You can't see any of the kids, but they really are there riding the Grizzly River Run.
The big Ferris Wheel at California Adventure.
Toy Story Mania
Dumbo

After church, we got to spend some time in San Pedro at the tide pools.

We loved the time we had with the Browns!

Beach Boys

I love Summer! It means swimming pools, free movies, lazy days and our favorite-- the Beach!
Here's Spencer and James at the Peninsula.
Seal Beach

I'm pretty sure they are the only ones at the beach in water wings!

It's a...................

I had to do the cake thing to find out what I was having. We cut the cake in Utah, but also had to have another cake at book club. Thanks, Stephanie, for making the delicious cake!

Girl!!!!!!!

Most of you already know, but I am slowly but surely trying to catch up what we've been doing in this busy summer.

Summer Fun in Utah

While we were in Utah for two weeks this summer, we got to go to cousin Tyler's baptism....
and Kent and Sheli's baby blessing for Justus.
The boys discovered the go cart,
and we discovered we shouldn't let Spencer drive alone. He had to lay on his back to reach the pedals and then he couldn't see where he was going.
The perfect combination: jumping and water.

The Treehouse Children's Museum.

I love to take pictures of them jumping into the swimming pool. We got to go to Rolling Hills a few times.

The Aquatic Center swimming pools.

We also bought a season pass to Classic Waterslides. I don't think it has changed from when I was going there 20 years ago.
They loved the giant squid slide.

Can't wait to go back to Utah!
