Happy Birthday, America!

Our ward hosted a Patriotic breakfast this morning followed by a volleyball game.  These cute girls made a girl club and had their first meeting during breakfast this morning.

 Hope and Ella
We hosted a patriotic BBQ tonight.
We were pretty proud of our jello.
 Back yard games and dinner.

We finished off the night with the best sparklers and fireworks Costco has to offer.  No, it is not cold here.  Hope loves this coat and loves it even if it is 100 degrees outside.  Fashion over function.

Happy Birthday, America!!  Last year we celebrated on a cold night in Australia.  We miss Australia heaps, but it feels good to be home.

Happy 4th!

We love the 4th of July! Our day started bright and early at 8:00 am at the pancake breakfast at the church. The scouts led the flag ceremony.
Doug served the pancakes in style with his Uncle Sam hat.

Faith and her good friend August.
What's more American than a trip to Target today?
We hosted a Fourth of July party for friends from our ward at our park across the street. We ate, and ate and ate. We also played charades with people or events from America's history.

When it got dark, we lit up the street with fireworks from Costco.

We thought Faith was going to light her tutu on fire. She was a walking fire hazard.

Happy Birthday, America!!

Street Party

Our town is very family-oriented with lots of kids, but I must say we have the best street in our town. Our town put on fireworks tonight, and our street put on a pre-fireworks party. It looked like the carnival was in town.

Besides the cool bounce houses and water slide, we had a real sno-cone maker.
I made these cupcakes. I guess I didn't get enough at my brother's wedding last month.

Seriously, what street party could even come close?
