Merry Christmas

Santa definitely came to our house.
Anxiously waiting to go see what they got.  We were so glad they slept in until 9:15 am.
 And then it was chaos.

This battery-powered toothbrush was Hope's favorite present. She carried it around with her all day and the day after.  Who knew?

Faith asked Santa for a Cuddle Uppet and she got it.

After they opened gifts from Santa, they tore into the gifts from each other and our families.

Good thing she likes her toothbrush since she ate all of Santa's leftover cookies and then some.

They love their Princess and the Popstar Barbies, dresses and movie.

After all the presents were opened we had a Christmas brunch with breakfast casserole and cinnamon rolls in the shape of a Christmas tree.

Our next-door neighbors, the Powers, had us over for Christmas lunch.  We made these ice cream Christmas tree ornaments to take.
The big gift for the girls was a play house.

And the big gift for the boys was a new trampoline.  We have never had a yard big enough for a trampoline, and they love it.  Santa's elf thought they could set it up for the kids, and they'd wake up to see it all set up.  Santa said heck no, he wasn't doing that in the dark. Santa was right.  It took all day to set it up, and the kids got to finally jump on it after it was dark.
We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!  Thank you so much to our families who sent us gifts.  We missed our families a lot this year, but I think the kids had a great day.

Christmas Eve

We have never been without family on Christmas, so this was a first for us as we celebrated in our own home.  We had friends from our ward over and had a party with dinner.

We played lots of games starting with unwrapping Hershey kisses with a glove on your hand.
I told everyone what to draw as they drew a Christmas scene on their heads without looking.

We also played Christmas charades, which was a lot of fun.  Turns out "Shrek the Halls" is very hard to act out!
It rained so hard tonight we had a lake in our yard.  During the rain we even had a few hail balls, making it close enough to a white Christmas for us.

After our guests left, we opened up new pajamas from Mammy. Hope fell asleep and missed out on this part.

They were ready for Santa!  We left him cookies, and Faith wrote him a note and put in her stocking.  I'll interpret for you; it says, "Faith Field would like everything for Christmas."  She wrote one for Hope and put it in Hope's stocking.  It said, "Faith's sister Hopi would like a puppy for Christmas."
Sweet dreams!
