Pumpkin Patch

Saturday night we went to Pa's Pumpkin Patch for some good old fun.
OK, maybe not Faith's best picture. I'm pretty sure she's flipping us off.
We went to the pumpkin patch, then drove to Albertsons to actually buy the pumpkins.

And of course, what would a pumpkin patch be without cheesy carnival rides that cost a fortune to ride?
They love it!

California Utah Women

Saturday I got to spend a great day doing things I love: shopping at the craft boutique, eating, and being with friends. It was time for CUW at the Disneyland Hotel and I had to initiate Faith into this tradition.
Lots of prizes are given at the luncheon, and this year the Ashcrafts were the big winners. Yeah for Riley who won the coveted Nordstrom gift certificate.

I had to take a picture of the dessert--chocolate dome. The pumpkin was edible, but very gross.

Is anyone too young for Disneyland?

We took Faith to Disneyland for the first time last night to trick-or-treat. She is eight days old sporting a kitty cat costume along with two Jack Sparrows and a football player.
Riding the tram.
The cutest cat at Disneyland.
Too bad it was so hot, the boys didn't last all night in their costumes. We got a good picture at the beginning of the night.
I think this is the most pathetic family there. Out of five people, only one was walking. Good thing Mammy and Cortney were there to push us along.
Faith was really impressed with Disneyland.
She did wake up for a minute to watch the parade.
Mammy and boys leaving a treat station.
I think we finally wore them out.

Brotherly Love

Some funny things the boys are saying about Faith:
Spencer: "I just saw her teeth and she doesn't have any."
We all call Faith Katie despite our best efforts. James said, "We just have to remember that Katie is up there (pointing to the ceiling) and Faith is down here (pointing to the floor)."
Faith was riding in the car seat and her head fell down to her knees since she can't hold her head up very well. We fixed her head and Spencer said, "She woke up when we put her head back on."
James: "I just heard her smile."

Firsts for Faith

Faith gets her first bath--Oct. 12, 2008
Her first visit to the Pediatrician--October 13, 2008
She is back up to 7 pounds.
Her first birthday party (besides her own). Doug had a rip roaring birthday party with us at home. Thanks to Mammy who made him this birthday cake and got take out at California Pizza Kitchen. Happy 38, Doug!!

Got Faith? We do!!

Here we are before school when we didn't yet have Faith. (Just try to take a picture of Natalie in her full pregnant glory - she just won't cooperate and she uses people as photo shields!)

A few hours later and Faith is here. Have you ever see a woman who looks so good and happy just after having had a baby?! Natalie swears that C-sections are the best.

It didn't take long for Faith to find her thumb. She needed a little help, so she used her daughter Jedi mind tricks and immediately Daddy just gave in. Hopefully, it's not the beginning of her first long-term bad habits - thumb sucking and/or convincing her Dad to let her do anything!

Faith is all freshened up now and happy to meet her brothers! Isn't she adorable!

Faith is a beautiful bundle of joy at 7 pounds 3 ounces and 20 inches long. She has light brown hair, and she has big, cute toes, too!

Faith's two older brothers were so happy to meet her! They can't wait to bring her home. We hope she'll soon whip them into shape!

Mammy finally got to hold Faith after waiting all day. We are so thankful to have Mammy here to help us!

Spencer took more than his fair share of time holding Faith. He even got more time than Melissa, Jessie, Tony and Anne put together. I think Melissa wanted to hurt him! Luckily, he's cute, too!

OK, I'm new at this blogging stuff and I can't figure out how to change these bottom two to be the same as the above, maybe I'll figure it out for the next edition.

James could not be any prouder! He loves his little sister, and only ran out of the room once when he was mad that he had to wash his hands again. He promises to follow all the rules from now on.

Our first new family photo. We are so happy to have Faith with us! We hope to have you visit soon, at the hospital or at our home!! For you out-of-staters, we only have a few months left in California before we move back East, so book now before all the openings are gone! We love you all and thank you for your prayers on our behalf.
