Family Day

Today is a public holiday in Canberra for families to get together.  We met up with our friends the Mamouneys at the Bell Tower for a picnic lunch.

We are alone in Australia with no family, and we feel so blessed that our friends take us in as family for occasions like this.

The girls would not leave Simon alone.  Poor Simon. Doug said he thought our kids were missing their uncles, and Faith said, "Yeah, we miss Wendell."

Hope, Faith and Mia. You can tell Bindi took this picture with her much better camera.

We left the Bell Tower to go for a walk around the lake.
I have no idea who this man is.
We walked to Floriade.  It was such a beautiful day for Floriade.

Walking back to our cars.  It was a wonderful day out!

Out of the Mouths of Babes

Today James and Faith were part of our ward's primary presentation.  It is my favorite Sunday of the year.  Not just because someone else can sit with them during sacrament meeting, but I love to see the children sing and give their speaking parts.  James and Faith both memorized their parts and did a great job. James spoke about the Word of Wisdom and the Priesthood.  The primary presidency went into Faith's class weeks ago and asked them questions.  The answers to these questions were the children's speaking parts.  They asked Faith, "If Jesus stood beside you, what would you do?"  Faith said, "I would give him a high five."  So that was her part in the program today.  The second question they asked Faith was "How do you know Heavenly Father loves you?"  And this is where the tears come.  She is four-years-old.  She could have said because I have lots of toys, my family is nice, etc.  Faith said, "I know Heavenly Father loves me because Katie died but He gave me Hope to be with me."  She is four.  How does she understand this at such a young age?  When I read her part for the first time, tears came to my eyes.  If you asked me how I know Heavenly Father loves me, I would give the same answer that Faith did.  I know Heavenly Father loves me because Katie died, but he gave me Spencer and James and Faith and Hope.  What a generous and loving Father in Heaven we have.
