Shopping With Faith

I love Faith's sense of style.

She loves her jewelry!
Faith and I had a great date at the mall today shopping and eating lunch at Chic-Fil-A. My favorite part was listening to the lady who rang us up as she asked me about three times if I thought she was pregnant based on several drawings that she drew for me of her latest pregnancy test results. Funny, funny.

I love a good Yard Sale

Faith is ready to take on the neighborhood this summer.

Have Your Kids Done This?

Spencer needed to build a bird feeder for scouts, and I thought I'd let Lowes take care of it for me. We went to their kids build-and-grow clinic Saturday morning to build the bird feeder, and it was so much fun.
The boys LOVED banging on their hammers to build. Imagine about thirty little hammers going off all around you. I think I'll need ear plugs next time.
The finished product.
Any Saturday morning we can fit this in our schedule, we will definitely be back. Did I mention it's totally free? (protective goggles and aprons included).

Real Men do This

He even painted her toenails. What a dad.

Grab a Book

I didn't ask them to do this. Considering the boys do not LOVE reading, I had to remember this day since it might be awhile before I ever see this again.

Like Brother like Sister

I found Faith hooked up to a Nintendo playing along with Spencer. I'm sure she'll think she needs her own soon.

Give a Day...Get Poison Ivy

Today we participated in Disney's "Give a Day, Get a Day" program helping to clean up trash at a local park. Little did we know we'd be crawling through poison ivy and fishing garbage out of streams.

The boys' favorite piece of trash of the day was a full bottle of mayonaise they fished out of the stream.

Hope nobody needed these shoes. To us, everything was garbage.

The boys were pretty great for the first two hours and actually said it was fun. The last hour wasn't so great and they were ready to go--good thing they got hot dogs to sustain them. We get more than hot dogs for our day of service--we get tickets to Disneyland. Can't wait!

Selective Memory

I've always thought it was funny when moms say they have blocked out the pain of labor and child birth, and that is the only reason they are having another child. I personally have blocked out a lot more than the birth. I think I blocked out about 18 months of my boys' life once they were so good at making messes like Faith here. She is into everything, and I can't remember what that was like until I'm picking it all up again.
She might be a mess-maker, but she can be helpful.
I know I didn't block out how cute they are at this age. She came up with this Statue of Liberty/towel wardrobe on her own.
And because they're so cute I just have to have another one.
Yes, this is an Announcement.
Baby five should arrive in October.

Play Ball!

James' T-ball career started Saturday morning with a parade of teams to open the season.
James is the kid huddled up in his jacket. It was a COLD morning.
James' team is the Cubs.
His first game was later Saturday afternoon. James is #2.
Batter up.
I love this action shot.

Ending with a cheer.
James' first game was against his good friend Weston on the Nationals.
I believe they tied 41-41 (no one really keeps score).

Manassas National Battlefield Park

This week we've enjoyed having the Brookharts stay with us while they've visited DC. Saturday we all went to the Manassas Battlefield.
You can't go to a battlefield without kids hanging on cannons.

Men were dressed as Civil War soldiers and taught us about soldier life.

This guy is Stonewall Jackson.
Thanks for coming, Brookharts!
