Tombstone

While in Tucson for the weekend, we drove to the infamous Tombstone. The boys got to pan for gold (or marbles in this case).
We watched a Wild West Show. The lack of crowds in the audience should have given us a clue. It was supposed to be a cowboy show with tricks, roping and riding. We did see a stuffed frog ride a dog and their big trick was getting a horse to lay down. Yes, it was exciting.
Plenty of photo opportunities in this "town too tough to die."

The historic Allen Street where gunfight shows played out all day.
The most famous site of Tombstone is the OK Corral.

We went to a show where they reenact the shoot out with Wyatt Earp, his brothers and some outlaws.

I think everyone liked the mine tour the best. We went into a silver mine and learned how silver is processed from ore to shiny stuff.

Funny picture-- are they just staring at rocks?

We found this gazebo where I gave my rendition of hopping around the benches singing, "I am 16 going on 17." It was impressive.
Our last stop before heading out of town and being questioned by border patrol to see if we are all American citizens. Now that's exciting. Fun day in the wild west.

Sonora Desert Museum

In Tucson we went to this museum where they had lots of animals of the desert on display.
The boys liked this fake cave the best.
Rocks and minerals of the desert.

Faith was pretty thirsty.
Jessi, Melissa, Cortney, Doug, James, Spencer, Faith and me.
Yep, it's a desert here.

Tucson, AZ

Over Memorial Day weekend we drove to Tucson, AZ with our friends the Johnsons who had a time share there. The pool was a big hit.

Nice farmer's tan.

Faith's bath after the pool.
On our way home we stopped to eat lunch at this Casa Grande Monument. It's a big Indian ruin you can look at.

I'm Gonna Miss This #3

I don't think there is a better airport in the world than the Long Beach Airport. I love that we just walk in and get on a plane and we don't have to rush from gate to gate. Oh how I'm gonna miss this!

Swimming Lessons

Swimming lessons started this week at the Olympic pool. I love walking into the pool with the ocean behind us.
James looks quite confident in this picture. After the first lesson in level 2, we had to scale back to level 1 since James threatened to quit. Level 1 is much better for them.

Swim boys, swim!

I Find Faith in the Strangest Places

The boys are at it again. They love to carry Faith and just put her somewhere weird. Maybe she'll love doing laundry when she gets older.

I'm Gonna Miss This #2

I am moving to the land of trees. I have never seen so many trees in my life as I do in Virginia. There is just something about a palm tree, though, that makes me happy. I'm gonna miss this.

Carnival Time

Saturday was our school carnival, and it was the first time we have ever been. It was a typical school carnival with lots of games....

and big blow-ups.....

and a bounce house...

and, of course, the colored hair spray.

Faith really was there. Another stroller shot.
