Jamestown, Again

We were just here last month, but the kids still like going to Jamestown Settlement.

Not the most authentic looking Native Americans.
They could be there all day trying to scrape the fur off this hide.

My niece Megan had this wheelchair because her ankle hurt, but Faith had to ride in it.

Williamsburg

The favorite spot of all Colonial Williamsburg.

The hanging tree.

Yorktown

I admit, before we lived here places like Yorktown or Williamsburg meant little to me. Now here we are stepping in history at the place where George Washington defeated the British in the Revolutionary War.
We wandered through a military encampment where we learned all about guns, disease and everything else that was great about this time period.

My boys are not really the dress-up type, but the air conditioned room full of costumes lured them in. If you could only feel how hot it is here!! How did they ever live here back then without AC?

The moment we were all waiting for--firing the cannon.

Virginia Beach

It's great to be back at the beach!

Nice wipeout, James.

And the reason we're all here?
My awesome tumbling niece Megan tumbled her way to the podium at 7th place in Nationals. Way to go, Megan! Not a bad place to spend a day or two.
