Tulip Top

My friend Bindi told us about Tulip Top Gardens and we spent the afternoon with the Mamouneys today looking at the beautiful flowers.

The boys died walking by this tree, the A-Bra-retum

 Faith, Mia and Hope

The free sausage sizzle lunch for the kids won the boys over after walking through a bunch of flowers to nice music with senior citizens everywhere.

I can almost feel summer!

Bush Dancing Queens

Tonight our stake hosted a bush dance at the church.

Spencer was too cool to go with us, Doug was working late, and the girls were thrilled to go.

We were even more thrilled with the all-you-can-eat gelato.
I think the girls danced with an ice cream cone in their hand all night.

No dancing from James; he was too busy working his way through about six ice cream cones.
A fun Friday night.

School Holidays Week #2

This week we were supposed to be at the beach. Thanks to the U.S. Government shut down, we are staying home this week.  We went with friends to Mulligan's Flat on Wednesday for some bush walking and lunch, and a little hide and seek.

Met this guy on our way out.
Today the kids and I went to the National Museum of Australia for their school holidays program. It was all about games this time.  The kids got to make their own board game.

They loved picking things to use as markers on the game board.

We even got to play a life-size game of Battleship.  We were ships from the first Australian Navy trying not to get hit.  I think Faith was the first ship sunk.
The computer was on the other side of that black bench where people were sitting.  The computer would put in coordinates and the big screen would say if it was a hit or a miss.
The boys refused to play so it was up to me.
Once you were sunk you could be a pirate ship or a seagull.
I think we would rather be at the beach, but there is still lots of fun to be had in our own backyard.
