Splash Down

Summer is going way too fast!

The Story of an Angel

I hate moving.  I do love going through my things, AGAIN, and deciding what we really need.  I unpacked this angel today just in time to pack it up.  And then I cried.  I feel like everyone needs to know the story of this little angel.  We had been home from Katie's funeral for about a week when I got a knock on the door.  There stood Teresa Mathis.  Teresa is mentally handicapped and doesn't drive.  She has little money.  That day Teresa had taken the public bus to my house to deliver this angel to me.  I know it wasn't easy for Teresa to get to my house and give me this beautiful little gift.   So many people gave us so many wonderful gifts after Katie died. This little angel represents my Katie, the good people of Long Beach, and all that is wonderful and good in difficult days.  I think this little angel needs to come with me to Australia.

And so it begins

I guess we really are moving and it's time to start saying goodbye.  Our great ward met at the park last night to party with us and the Schmutzes who are also leaving.
 Lisa, me, Charlene and Valerie
Doug, Hope and me with Pauline
Kara, me, Kelly, Ivy and Stacy
 me and Brenda
 me and Carrie

Of course lots of yummy food was involved.  We'll be around for a few more weeks, but I still don't believe I'm moving.  Didn't I just move?

Mi Familia

Once in awhile it happens.  Everyone in my family was actually at the same place at the same time while we were in Utah this summer.

AriseStandShine

Last night the youth in our stake, along with six other stakes, performed in a Youth Celebration for youth conference and we went to see them perform.

The kids from our stake did a country western dance.
 The Laurels and Priests waltzed.

They did a great job!
