Emmett's 1st Soccer Game of the Season

In the words of the well-known country song, "I'm gonna miss this. I'm gonna want this back. I'm gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast." I already miss it and I haven't even left. I thought I'd start posting the things I'm going to miss most, so in no particular order, I'm going to miss our house. When we were looking for a house, we looked at some really scary, weird, dirty, disgusting places. When I walked in the front door of our house I thought right away, "I'll take it."
I love that I get to look at this every day out my window. You can't tell, but that's the ocean at the end of the street; I'm definitely going to miss this.
Our house was built in 1914. Doug will tell you that the old house charm is wearing off, but I love the charm. The doors all have this kind of molding around them, the three feet of crown molding in the living room is awesome, and we haven't figured out what that white box looking thing in the wall is used for. We have had fun speculating.
We didn't know how valuable our doorknobs are until several people have commented on them. The doors don't stay closed all the way and the doorknobs are loose, but I love it.
I have only ever seen a sink like this in the movie "Thoroughly Modern Millie." I can't say I love that I either have really hot water or really cold and the two don't mix. That could be a flaw of 1914 that luckily they fixed.
I must say the closets are truly awesome in this house. Builders in 1914 really knew what a closet should be like. When we looked at our house for the first time, we looked in the closet and said it could be one of the kid's rooms, it was that big. I know this closet is a mess, but it's our cleanest closet and our smallest closet. I'm gonna miss these closets.
I can't forget the haunted mansion chandelier. This thing is quite the lighting fixture, but it contributes to the old feeling in the house.
I love that old houses in Long Beach have these cool built in things. I'm so gonna miss all this storage space.
Spencer planted this flower for me and wrote an original poem about me. It goes like this:

Saturday we took the kids to the Angels game. This one is for my cousin Mark who would be very disappointed if we had lived here this long and had never gone to an Angels game.
Part of my Mother's Day present was a night out with the ladies at Disneyland last Friday night. It's the first time I've left Faith with the boys, and I think it was a huge success.

The troublesome economic times we live in have taken their toll on many businesses. We are all saddened by the closing of such stores as Mervyn's and Circuit City. Nothing grieves us more than to announce another closure among the great businesses. For five years the Field Family Beach Bed and Breakfast has served you, and with a heavy heart we announce we are closing our doors the end of June. It is time to roll up our welcome mat and relocate our business to Washington, DC.
If you are upset that you no longer have a free place for your vacationing needs, believe me, no one is more upset about this than we are. Hopefully, we can meet your needs when you are in the DC area. Thank you for your patronage the last five years. It has truly been some of the best and worst of times, but we've loved every second.
Saturday was Katie's birthday, and we were so excited we could be at her grave on her birthday this year. We had a party with balloons, cupcakes, ice cream, flowers and singing. After we sang we let her balloons go so she could reach down and get them.
It has been three years since Katie came to our family, and not a day goes by that I don't feel that she is missing and our family has a hole in it for this time on earth. Has three years made a difference in my grief? Not really. I do, however, realize with Faith here this year, that Heavenly Father hears and answers prayers, and life goes on only because we have no choice but to keep on going.
