Reading Night

Today was pajama day at school, and we have been doing lots of new hairstyles with Faith so we thought we'd take a picture of her hair today ;)

The boys didn't want to go to Faith's school tonight for Reading Night so I took the girls.  We had a photo op with the school mascot, Swoop.
They had a game like a cake walk where we stepped on Sight Words, and when the music stopped they called a sight word.  If you were on the word, you won.  Hope won right away and picked her prize, a pink, fluffy slap bracelet.

Hope won again and Faith got to claim her prize.
Each room had different activities.  In Faith's room, one of the school board members read them a story.
They made bookmarks in another room.

In the last room we went to a group of kids did a reader's theater of a book.  The girls thought it was so fun.

Happy Easter!

We are so grateful for Easter Sunday and the hope and great joy it brings to our life to know He Lives!  The kids got Easter baskets with new swimming stuff and summer clothes.
After General Conference we had our friends the Murrays and Browns over for dinner.  We got to use those colored eggs for a game we learned from our friends in Australia.
We played the cracking game until we had one winner.  I think it was Faith.

 Hope, Phebe and Ella
We got a picture of the kids, although Faith is not wearing her Easter dress.

They wanted a picture with their dog.  I guess I should mention they got a dog.  I still have nothing to do with this dog even though it has been in our home for two months now.  Her name is Ginninderra after our ward in Australia, but she goes by Ginny.

Dyeing and Donuts

We came home from our ward's Easter egg hunt and the girls wanted to dye their eggs.  Even the boys wanted to dye their eggs.

But really, we were all business today.  To raise money for scout camp, we took orders to deliver doughnuts and cinnamon rolls for General Conference and Easter. I made the cinnamon rolls all week and froze them and we made the doughnuts fresh today.  We made over 200 doughnuts!

The boys helped fry the doughnuts and package them.
I took James and the girls on deliveries because Spencer had to go to the Priesthood session with Doug.  We were really late getting them all delivered, and I realized at 10:00 the kids hadn't had dinner so we were off to the drive thru for dinner.  What a night!  The good news is we made $250.

Easter Egg Hunt

Our family was in charge of our ward's Easter egg hunt this morning.  We helped set up and our family, with the help of the missionaries, filled over 1,000 eggs with candy.  We had a great morning eating brunch with friends and then the hunt was on.

My boys are too big for hunting Easter eggs and would rather play basketball in the gym.

Spencer won't even let me take a picture of him.  How sad they are growing up.

Cub Run

We spent our afternoon at the Cub Run Rec Center pool with the Browns.

Nice belly flop, James!
