Tuesday, September 11th all the sixth graders at Spencer's school left for a camping trip to Biloela Bush Camp. They camped together for three nights, coming back to the school on Friday afternoon. It was the first time Spencer had ever left us to do something like this.
When they got there, they were divided into groups. Spencer's leader was Ben or "Snowy." (Spencer's in this picture on the right with his red and gray jacket.)
There are no bathrooms--they dug a latrine.
They helped make their own food.
They washed their own dishes. That is Spencer in the black FBI hoodie.
Setting up their tents.
The only thing Spencer complained about was all the hiking, or bush walking as they call it.
They got to canoe.
They built these rafts and floated on them. Spencer is on the right in the white rash guard top and khaki hat.
Spencer is on the left.
They repelled down this big rock. They call it abseiling.
We sure missed him and were so glad when we picked him up on Friday.
What an awesome adventure.
