This afternoon we were staking out a spot for family pictures with our friend Johanna and her boys and we ran into an echidna. I don't know how rare they are to spot in the wild, but we had never seen one in the wild before.
Echidnas are like ant-eaters. They love to burrow down with their long nose and eat ants. He was chowing down on the ants when we saw him and then he just walked away.
Very cool.
