We've been having some beautiful spring days so we took advantage of it and went for a cruise around Lake Burley-Griffin this afternoon.
The boat was so kid friendly. The guy had a treasure chest of treasure the kids could play with.
He even let them drive the boat.
Certificates of proof that they drove.
Captain Cook Fountain. This is a memorial to Captain Cook, and it was built in 1970 commemorating 200 years since he landed in Australia.
Old and New Parliament House
American-Australia Monument. This American Eagle stands at the Russell Building (their Pentagon). People think America gave it to Australia, but really the Australians built it as a token of gratitude to America for their help in WWII.
This is the Supreme Court Building.
This Bell Tower was a gift from the British.
The War Memorial. Anzacs Parade is the street that leads up to the Memorial. The sand is red to symbolize the blood lost for Australia.
The American Ambassador's house at the Embassy.
Telstra Tower (Faith calls it the Eiffel Tower).
We could almost be around the Tidal Basin at Cherry Blossom time. We are loving the new warm weather.
