The Grandin Building

In downtown Palmyra we visited the Grandin Building where the Book of Mormon was first printed and sold on March 26, 1830.   The fist Book of Mormon would have cost $300 in today's dollar!

We got to see how the Book of Mormon was printed.  We all agreed we would not like the job of being a type-setter.

One of the first Book of Mormons printed here.
After touring the Grandin Building, we ate lunch at this park.  Too bad I didn't get a picture of the anti-Mormom meeting going on next to us.  They were organizing for tonight's Hill Cumorah Pageant.

In Joseph Smith's history he talks about the increased interest in religion.  We liked this intersection where there is a church on every corner in downtown Palmyra.  These churches were here when Joseph Smith lived here.
