The Blue Mountains west of Sydney offer some of Australia's most beautiful scenery. It's a lot like Yosemite with steep cliffs, waterfalls, and a sense of sitting on top of the world. Everyone gets Good Friday off, so we headed to the Blue Mountains. The most popular site in the Blue Mountains is the Three Sisters.
Legend has it there were three sisters from one tribe who fell in love with three brothers from an enemy tribe. The tribes went to war over this, and a wise man turned the sisters into stone during the war so they wouldn't get killed. The wise man died in battle and no one can turn them back into people now.
You can go down lots of steps and sit right under one of the sisters.
What goes down, must come up, but we did it!
